Description of Events/Activities
The CRRC continues to strive to attract attendees from all locations and generations. As such, the CRRC is planning a number of new and exciting activities. The following highlights some of the 2011 Reunion features and planned events:
· Hospitality Suite – NEW! For your enjoyment the 2011 CRRC will host a hospitality suite in the host hotel that will serve as a casual meeting place, provide a source of reunion information, display the family tree, and feature games, refreshments, etc.
· Cole & Raper Scholarship Foundation – NEW! Through this foundation, we are able to recognize and support family members (under 26 years old) that are enhancing their future through the pursuit of an undergraduate degree.
· Cole & Raper T-Shirts and Baseball Caps – NEW! Paraphernalia displaying the Reunion Logo will serve as a tax-deductible fundraiser to support the Cole & Raper Scholarship Foundation and make a nice Reunion memorabilia.
· Family Free Style Activities – NEW! A relaxed day of fun that consists of two highlight activities (*) plus a menu of other activities from which to choose.
o International Civil Rights Museum Tour – Explore “our” plight for equality at this historic museum (http://www.sitinmovement.org). *
o Celebration Station - Games and fun for youth and teens, as well as a pizza party. (http://www.celebrationstation.com)*
o Children’s Museum – Interactive games and learning experiences for children (www.gcmuseum.com).
o Shopping – Hang with family and enjoy a search for bargains at the new Tangers Outlet located approximately 45 minutes from the host hotel (http://www.tangeroutlet.com).
o Spa Day – Gather and relax with family as you pamper yourself at a local spa.
o Golfing – Enjoy a day on the green with the family.
· Family Tree – Confirm that you and your family are represented as you trace your roots back to 1833.
· Dinner/Family Highlights Slideshow – NEW! A dinner presentation of “Memories from Years Gone By.”
· Scholarship Foundation Presentation – NEW! Celebrating and supporting our future’s education.
· Memorial Presentation – A presentation “In Remembrance of Fallen Leaves.”
· Family Shout-Outs – NEW! Display your family pride by recognizing family accomplishments (e.g. graduations, weddings, births, promotions) since 2009.
· Cole & Raper Idol– NEW! A little family competition to showcase the talents of the Cole & Raper clan. Who will be the 1st Cole & Raper Idol?
· DJ and Dancing – Shake a tail feather or get your swerve on – whatever works for your generation! (A DJ search is under way. Can you help us? – Send your suggestions including name and contact information to coleraperreunion2011@gmail.com or submit with your survey.)
